Intro to Foot Anatomy & Assessments
As the only contact point between the body and the ground, the foot acts as our foundation to balance, stability and gait. Join functional podiatrist Dr Emily as she explores the basic biomechanics and anatomy of the foot and ankle complex, as well as introduces how to perform a foot assessment. Gain powerful information about the power of the human foot and how it can impact client programming and progressions.
Objectives:
To describe basic biomechanics of the foot and ankle complex and how it relates to common movements and exercises
To demonstrate how to perform a basic standing foot assessment to gather information on foot stability, balance, and strength
To describe progressive programming based on the three most common foot types: over-pronation, supination, and a neutral foot.
